Independent contractor MMC; Duties included: Won open bid contract to create E-learning materials for a pilot program on KS1758, a new horticultural standard, for a private sector organization on behalf of Millennium Management Consultants (MMC) Africa. Collaborated with key stakeholders in the horticultural industry, MMC and the lead trainer to collate and produce E-learning audio materials for the standard. Since January 2016, 800 small and medium flower farmers and flower related service providers from Nyahururu, Nyandarua, Naivasha and Nairobi have been trained using the materials. Independent contractor IDC; Duties included: Won open bid contract from a shortlisted group of 5, to market the Flora Trade Show in Rimini, Italy for International Development Center (IDC), Italy. Recruited 10 medium to large scale farms and 5 Business Management Organizations (BMOs) to participate in a 3 day flower show and 2 day business exploration tour of Rimini and San Marino respectively, the first time Kenya flower farmers attended this flower show. Coordinated successful B2B’s between farm representatives and 20 European Wholesale Flower Buyers. This resulted in signed orders of $15,000. Convinced the Kenyan attendees to hold an impromptu sale of the showcase flowers and vases on the last day of the show. In total the representatives generated sales from the general public of €2000 from products that are normally thrown away.
