Diego Raggio

My name is Diego Raggio, I am an American engineer/programmer living down in Argentina.
I am looking to form part of a development team with a creative environment and be able to take part in long term projects. As well as learn new skills and hone my existing ones to perfection.
My engineering background gives me a unique perspective for assessing and analyzing a problem. Before planning out an effective strategy and implementing it efficiently.
I have several years of experience programming in several fields and am always trying to stay up to date with the latest frameworks, languages and software (mentioned in the attached resume).
I started learning to code as an engineering tool, for simulations and calculus (MathCad, Python, FluidSim, etc). But soon found myself interested in web dev and app building with Ruby on Rails. I take great joy in creating elegant solutions through modular code that can be updated and scaled up, and with the proper TDD this is easily obtained (I prefer RSpec for testing). As well as in building stylized and responsive user interfaces (with scss, sass, bootstraps, masonry and isotope). I usually serve my web apps on Heroku for dynamic content and S3/Cloudfront for static assets (with backend uploads through paperclip). I also have experience with automation of custom rake tasks and mailers.
I don't mind working on a tight deadline and am extremely efficient with my time, but I always look for a creative solution that can be beneficial in the future. I am focused, reliable and very easy to work with.
