I am an enthusiastic, motivated individual who plays well with others.

I am constantly learning and upskilling myself through various online courses (and online providers). From Docker to Azure to Web Development (even throwing in some home studio recording for good measure), I like to ensure that I keep my abilities improving and evolving.

I'm great with people, really confident with leading teams and projects, and am dedicated to getting results in a timely fashion.

I have been working in IT for the better part of 22 years, aside from a one-year stint as a raft and river-boarding guide on the Zambezi River in Zambia, and being a stock controller for a music store. On the IT side, I have worked for many companies that have pushed me to grow and develop, throwing some exciting challenges at me that I took in my stride and gave me the confidence to take on bigger projects. I cope very well in stressful and pressurised situations; I'm level-headed and calm.

Dealing with MS Exchange on-premise failures, Hyper-V Cluster fail-over faults, and with the people that depend on these services was never something uncontrollable or unmanageable.

I communicate clearly and concisely, and am always happy to engage if clarification is required, so there are no misunderstandings.

Some of my experience includes the following:

• Implementing, maintaining and supporting server infrastructure, including Hyper-V, Exchange and MS-SQL
• Configuring, maintaining and monitoring backups (Backup Exec, Veeam)
• Maintaining Active Directory and configuring Group Policies
• Serving on Management Committee to steer business
• I have good experience with Linux (desktop and server - Ubuntu). Web servers (Apache2 & Nginx), LDAP, SSH, Mail (Postfix, Dovecot), IPtables, Nextcloud, system configuration, maintenance and monitoring.
