This has been on versions from 7 through to 19. I have a reasonable functional understanding of the systems as well. Clients include large retailers in the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia and the Middle East. I have also been working on setting up services in the Cloud and cross-skilling into this area, particularly IaaS. I have worked on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), have completed Amazon (AWS) and Google basic cloud training so I believe I have a good grasp of these technologies and the benefits they bring. I am mostly self-taught, very hands-on and like to have a comprehensive ‘big picture’ architecture view of the project scope and how it fits into the enterprise and am constantly trying to improve and optimise the architecture. Assignments include: Panda Saudi Arabia Integration SME – July 2020 to August 2021: Integration SME on Panda’s V19.0 Oracle Retail cloud implementation project working on technologies like ODI, OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud) and OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure). Panda migrated from on-premises Oracle Retail V14 to the Oracle Retail Cloud Service modules including MFCS, RPCS and RICS on Oracle’s cloud OCI. I been worked on integration to their point of sales systems (POS) from their head office systems using technologies like ODI, PL/SQL, MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL. The store POS databases were MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL and installed and set up development databases. ASOS Data Migration Analyst – October 2019 to 31 March 2020: ASOS implemented Oracle Retail V16.0 and worked on the data migration team assisting with loading of data into the Oracle Merchandising System. This included Linux shell scripting and Oracle database PLSQL development. Architecture is Oracle Retail running on Oracle databases and WebLogic middleware on Linux servers in the Microsoft Azure Cloud. Terminated due to COVID-19. Wipro Technical Architect at Truworths Cape Town – April 2019 to June 2019: Technical architect on Truworths’ Oracle Retail V16.0 implementation project. Modules include RMS, RIB, RPM 7 ReSA integrating to their existing Sim, Allocations, RPOS and other legacy systems. Hardware platform is Linux on Oracle VM. I assisted with advice on application configuration, server sizing, database & middleware setup, etc. as well as providing support on technical issues. The client decided to ramp down the project while they caught up with internal development work. Wipro Technical Infrastructure Lead at Primark – November 2018 to March 2019: Managing the technical infrastructure team of ten members on Primark’s large implementation project of Oracle Retail version 15. Modules include the MOM suite, RPM, RIB, RFI & RDE as well as a number of custom-built systems. This included integration to IBM middleware. Hardware platform is IBM P Series on AIX. The team is responsible for installation, configuration and supporting the Oracle Retail system through development, SIT, UAT, OAT and go-live on 17 environments. Duties included general team management, work assignment, technical architecture related work, defect resolution, close cooperation with the hardware vendor & environment managers, review of infrastructure sizing and design, performance tuning, general troubleshooting, etc. Wipro asked me to move to the project in Cape Town.
